Grape seeds
Since its origins, Distilleria Deta has operated with a vision of full exploitation of the subproducts deriving from grape processing and, remaining faithful to this logic, at the end of the marc processing cycle, the grape seeds are also recovered.
They are separated from the marc downstream of the distillation process and stored in special silos until they are sold to domestic and foreign oil presses.
An oil is extracted from this seed of significant food and cosmetic prestige, rich in polyphenols, vitamin E, saturated, mono and polyunsaturated fatty acids in quantities that are far superior to those contained in other vegetable oils.
Grape seed oils are particularly attributed with cholesterol-lowering and antioxidant properties, and using it therefore brings significant benefits to the human cardiovascular and immune system.
It is important to remember that the thermal and electrical energy required for the plant to operate derive almost entirely from the combustion of the biomass residual from the industrial process and biogas produced by the digestion of the wastewater, fulfilling a virtuous cycle of exploitation of the subproducts and reflecting a perfect model of “circular economy”.
